Proposed Code Rewrite
The City of Hartford adopted zoning regulations more than 80 years ago to guide how land in our community is used and developed. Given the pivotal role these regulations have on the City’s continued growth and success, we’ve undertaken a significant project to review them to see what’s working well and what improvements can be made to make them easier to understand and more suited to meet the needs of our residents and businesses.
At this point, no final decisions have been made. City staff has been working with the consultant to identify issues and providing input on various drafts of the code. The Plan Commission has received periodic updates at their monthly meetings.
Once the Plan Commission finalizes the proposed zoning code, we’ll have additional opportunities for public engagement.
Until then, this website is a window into the proposed regulations. You can explore key parts of the proposed code and access specific zoning details for any parcel by clicking on the interactive zoning map or using the property search.
If you have any questions about the process or how the proposed regulations could broadly affect land development or specifically affect a particular property, please contact Jacob Maas, Director of Community Development, at (262) 673-8265 or at [email protected].
